As the name would imply, these gloves are designed for on-road/off-road adventure riding.
For a vented mesh-glove that breathes as well as these do, the Dirt 3 is substantial—more so than most other vented gloves we've seen.
The Dirt 3 comes with copious amounts of armor—both with a broad knuckle protector, and with extra TPU bits along the fingers. They also have a hefty rubber pad at the palm, for blunting the impact of impacts with trees, or terra firma.
Strictly speaking, if you're going to go arms-out Superman off the bike while riding on the street, something of a palm slider would be a better feature.
That said, we can still recommend these gloves for crossover use as an urban summer option. And it's an ideal option if you're going to tackle a summertime .
The Dirt 3's short cuff design interfaces easily with any jacket style, and "connect" fingertips work with your GPS or smartphone.
